In Southern Africa, between Namibia and Zimbabwe, Botswana it is the perfect place to organize a holiday between nature and animals: here, a safari is a must. And spotting giraffes, lions and cheetahs is not a rare occurrence.

And if it is precisely the animals that you intend to see, there is one place above all that in Botswana is worth a visit: it is the Chobe National Park, which is not the largest in the country but is certainly the most famous (as well as one among the most famous African parks). The reason? The variety and abundance of its flora and fauna. Of all Africa, this is the place where the highest concentration of elephants is found, 120.000 specimens. But not only that: there are also hippos, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes. Only, if you decide to organize a safari here, it is best to follow the antimalarial prophylaxis: malaria is in fact present throughout the park area.

Another splendid place that is a must for anyone arriving in Botswana the Okavango River Delta. A delta which is one of the largest on the planet, and which is made up of infinite channels, lagoons and small basins. It is on the banks of this splendid river that the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, with its rich vegetation and birds that fill every corner with colour. Here, you can sleep inside a tent surrounded by the wildest nature: the emotion is incredible, but it requires a bit of courage.

If you would like to see even wilder places, the right place is Small Pans: nicknamed “the great nothing“, is made up of two gigantic expressions in memory of an ancient lake that has now disappeared. Looking at it, it seems like a completely desolate place, but in reality it hides a unique ecosystem: the rainwater, retained, favors the growth of dense, low vegetation here, in the midst of which flamingos, pelicans, geese and birds of numerous species hide.

Finally, the deserto Kalahari: Botswana is 70% covered by red sand, creating a scenography that leaves tourists breathless. High dunes and boundless expanses follow one another, alternating with forests and savannahs, home to warthogs and giraffes, antelopes and cheetahs, hyenas and lions.
