    Azerbaijan is one of the emerging destinations of recent years.     Balakhani, in the Absheron Peninsula, is known to be uone of the oldest points in the world for oil extraction. In fact, the first well was dug here in 1593 and the first oil distillation factory was built in 1837. Which is why this has always been a very polluted area. However, after the reclamation and redevelopment works of the area, Balakhani is radically changing its image, already presenting itself as a small jewel of the Caucasian land.

    The village is rich in historical monuments and cultural places which are slowly being valorised. The tourism office has in fact decided to start promoting Balakhani by also involving the local population.
