    Beauty, this is certain, will save the world. And she will do so as long as we allow Mother Nature, without hindering her, to do so enchant us with its wonderful shows, always new, always magical. Like the one that gives us the sensation of walking among the clouds, while remaining with our feet on the ground, while the sky and the entire firmament they are reflected below us.



    If the Salar De Uyuni was a fairy tale, we are sure, would enchant adults and children all over the world. Yet this lake is real, and it is magical as only it can be. Not only for that beauty that characterizes the surrounding area throughout the year, but for that transformation that occurs periodically and which allows us to experience aexperience at the limits of the ordinary.

    Located in Bolivia, the Salar de Uyuni is endorheic pelvis which extends for over 10000 square kilometers, which is why it is considered among the largest in the world. This was formed following theevaporation of some prehistoric lakes becoming the largest today salt flat of the planet, as well as one of the most magical places on the earth we inhabit.

    Alongside the scientific explanation, however, it also appears an Aymara legend, certainly more suggestive and romantic, which explains the birth of this expanse of salt. History has it, in fact, that the enormous mountains that today surround Salar de Uyun were once people of majestic heights. Tunupa and Kusku were united in marriage, but the latter left his wife for Kusina. Tunupa's suffering and his copious tears thus formed the salt flat.

    It is here, in fact, that nature stages one of its most mystical shows, the one that allows us to walking suspended between heaven and earth. During the rainy season, when the surface is covered with water, a mirror effect of enchanting wonder is created.


    The sky, clouds and stars are reflected, while the geographical limits and the horizon seem imperceptible. It is in that moment that you have the sensation of being at the center of the universe and of being one with it. The surface of the large salt flat, in fact, it reflects everything above it offering shows of unique beauty.

    Uyuni Salt Lake, actually, it is spectacular every day of the year because it offers the most magical scenery in the world. During the dry season, in fact, the salt lake is characterized by a sparkling white that shines in the sun and gives the sensation of being in front of an earthly paradise.


    But it is during the rainy season that nature puts on its most beautiful show. In fact, from November to March, when the rain falls in the southwestern territory of Bolivia, the water settles on the salt lake and transforms it into a mirror. The peaks of the volcanoes that surround it, the clouds and the stars are reflected on it, while the boundary between the sky and the earth disappears. And then the magic begins.
