Indonesia, The Stages Of The Journey

Finally, after a few months of research, I have practically outlined the stages of the journey that will lead me and my partner, both in life and in travel, to visit Indonesia and in particular the island of Java, Bali and the Gili Islands.

The departure is scheduled for the end of July for about 25 days.

Departure from Rome with a stopover in Dubai and arrival in Jakarta.

Day 1

Arrival in the late evening a Jakarta and accommodation at MaxOneHotels, near Gambir Station, the station from where trains leave for Yogyakarta.

Day 2

9,00 in the morning departure for Yogyakarta by Taksaka train which in about 8 hours will take us to the cultural capital of java. We bought the tickets through the site www.ticket.com, cost about 30 euros each in first class. We chose the train, also considering the advice of other travelers, to be able to enjoy the view during the journey.

A Yogyakarta we will stay for 3 nights, in order to calmly visit all the most important attractions that this town offers, including i templi famosi at Borobudur e Prambanan.

Day 5

Departure for Japan, small town on the north coast of java famous for its woodworking.

Jepara is also one of the two ports (the other is Semarang) from where boats depart for l'arcipelago in Karimunjawa, an enchanting marine park made up of 27 coral islands located about 90 km north of Jepara.

In Jepara we will sleep one night at THE GECHO INN and then the next day take the fast ship to Karimunjava.

Day 6

A Karimunjawa we will sleep atArys Lagoon for 3 nights.

Day 9

Departure for Mount Bromo, to go to the volcano and then reach the beautiful Bali.

To go to the Bomo we have 2 options:

1 option:

We return to Yogyakarta, sleep one night and the next day we leave early in the morning with an organized tour (there are many agencies that organize this excursion) in the direction of Bromo. You sleep (a few hours) in the village at the foot of the volcano, wake up in the morning at 3,00 to enjoy the sunrise from a viewpoint near the volcano, trekking to the top of the crater, breakfast and then another 10/12 hours by bus up to Bali.

2 option:

Organize everything on our own, perhaps visiting some other country like Solo, another town full of fascinating temples.

The thing is feasible and allows you to save some money, however to better understand how to go from Yogyakarta to Bromo I recommend read this article.

Day 11

Arrival in the late evening in Kuta, a very touristic area of Bali.
Accommodation at Loft Legian Hotel Bali (1 night € 22,00)

Day 12

Departure for Ubud and three nights accommodation at Tanah Merah Resort & Gallery, hotel with villas and huts located in the heart of the jungle.

Day 15

Departure for Gili Trawangan, ed alloggio al Karma Kayak for 7 nights
We chose Karma Kayak for its location north of Trawangan, for the hugely popular sunset aperitif on the Mount Agung in Bali and for snorkeling right in front of the resort. The busiest area of the island with clubs and restaurants can be reached with a 20/30 minute walk.

Day 22

Departure from Gili Trawangan in the direction of Kuta to stay another 2 days and also enjoy some evening life.

Day 24

Flight to Jakarta

Day 25

I come back to rome
