Where to stay in Paros: Naoussa

Naoussa and Parikia are both beautiful villages, but the former is certainly more characteristic, with narrow alleys full of shops, taverns and clubs. It is the ideal place to stay in Paros for those looking for a beautiful sea but also a bit of evening life.

Staying in Naousa you will not have to move in the evening, as this is where the nightlife of the island is concentrated, with its splendid old port full of bars and restaurants.

Naoussa is also close to the most beautiful beaches such as Santa Maria, Kolimbrites and Monastiri and can be reached by boats that leave from the port.

Beaches within walking distance from Naoussa are Piperi Beach e Agii Anargyri Beach.

Where to stay in Paros: Parikia

The strength of Parikia is the strategic position, it is in fact close to the port and boarding for Antiparos. Parikia is also well positioned with respect to the splendid southern beaches, reachable by boats that depart every day, a convenient solution for those who do not want to rent a vehicle.

Parikia is also a charming town, with its narrow streets and typical Greek colors, it is full of taverns, bars and shops, but in the evening it is much quieter than Naoussa. Parikia is particularly recommended for families with children, as it is a larger town, very well-kept and with all the services available.

If you choose Parikia as a place to stay in Paros you will have the beautiful beach of Livadia, within walking distance, where you can go on days when you don't want to move.

Aliki

Even the small village of Aliki can be a good solution to stay in Paros, for those looking for a much less chaotic area than Naoussa and Parikia.

Near Aliki are some of the most beautiful beaches on the island. However, if you are looking for some evening movement, then this is not the area for it.

The island of Paros has a good public transport system to move between the main places, but to move more freely and visit the island and its beautiful beaches it is recommended to rent a means of transport, preferably a scooter or a quod.

HOW TO GET TO PAROS

To reach Paros there are mainly two alternatives:

  • You can fly to Athens and then take a ferry from Piraeus to Paros (around 3 or 5 hours) or alternatively a domestic flight from Athens to Paros (around 35 minutes).
  • The second option is to fly to Mykonos and from there take a fast ferry to the island of Paros (approximately 50 minutes). This is the best but most expensive option, but you can think of doing a few days in the gorgeous Mykonos.
