In recent years, a tourist trend linked to Game of Thrones has been generated and spread, with tourists and fans of the show, as well as the books, hunting for locations popular on TV. One of the most intriguing and present in the TV series is undoubtedly Malta. Five places to discover, starting from Mdina, ancient city founded more than 4 thousand years ago by the Romans. It is one of the island's commercial centers, which attracts thousands of tourists every year, ready to enjoy the lovely climate and discover its history. HBO decided to exploit the gate of Mdina, which becomes the occasionentrance to King's Landing.

A visit to the San Anton Palace it means appreciating the splendid official residence of the President of Malta. In the eyes of a Game of Thrones fan, however, this historic structure is nothing other than the Red Fortress, heart of the Lannister domain. There are many dark plots woven in his garden, which will certainly make fans who know well how books and shows have the habit of killing the protagonists of the series in a bloody way feel some shivers.

Visiting certain places therefore means reliving certain traumatic scenes: this is the case of Fort Manoel, made by knights of the Order of Malta in 1700. A splendid fortification, where the dramatic scene of Ned Stark's execution was filmed.

The wedding between Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo was also filmed in Malta, but the magnificent scenery of the blue window it is now lost. The natural arch, entirely made of stone, more than 50 meters high, collapsed following a strong storm. The last stop of this intriguing tour will therefore be Fort Sant'Angelo, another impressive fortress, located in front of Valletta. Its underground tunnels are of great impact, used in Game of Thrones to create the dungeons of the Red Fortress, where Arya sees the skulls of the ancient deceased dragons.
