Montreux it is a Swiss town located on the shores of Lake Geneva, and is a renowned location that hosts important festivals and famous fashion and entertainment personalities. The city hosts the Jazz Festival, the Montreux Sundance, the Golden Rose Festival, the national choral singing competition; in 2011 the Freddy Mercury Tribute was organized on the twentieth anniversary of the singer's death. The walk along the lake allows a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape rich in nature. Small boats can also be rented for excursions on the lake. The emblem of the city of Montreux is Place du Marchè, the main square, very large, home to the covered market, where you can buy an infinite number of local products, such as cheese and chocolate, renowned throughout the world. Also worth visiting are the mountain studios, still used today by many internationally renowned artists. They were purchased by Queen in 1978 and today belong to the group's producer, David Richards. In the city of Montreux Freddie Mercury is practically an icon, so much so that a statue was erected to him in the Market Square.
